Hours:

Approximately 10:00 PM–6:30 AM or 11:00 PM–7:00 AM

We are seeking an experienced Sanitation Manager to lead overnight sanitation operations for a food manufacturing facility in Coalinga, CA. This is a hands-on leadership position responsible for managing the sanitation team, maintaining food safety and sanitation standards, and ensuring the facility and processing equipment are properly cleaned and sanitized for production.

The ideal candidate will have previous sanitation leadership experience within food manufacturing or food processing, strong knowledge of GMPs, sanitation chemicals and food safety requirements, and the ability to effectively lead and train an overnight sanitation crew.

Spanish-speaking or bilingual English/Spanish candidates are highly preferred due to the day-to-day communication needs of the sanitation team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead, supervise, train, and develop the facility's sanitation team.
  • Oversee all overnight cleaning and sanitation activities throughout the facility, grounds, and processing equipment.
  • Maintain and enforce sanitation, GMP, food safety, and contamination-prevention policies and procedures.
  • Ensure sanitation activities comply with applicable FDA, USDA, OSHA, and state/local requirements.
  • Maintain and manage the facility's Master Sanitation Schedule (MSS) and required documentation.
  • Monitor sanitation crews for compliance with Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), PPE, chemical safety, and other plant safety procedures.
  • Train employees on proper cleaning techniques, chemical handling, dilution requirements, PPE, and safe sanitation practices.
  • Ensure equipment, utensils, food-contact surfaces, and production areas are cleaned and sanitized according to established food safety standards.
  • Maintain proper use and documentation of cleaning chemicals, sanitizing agents, and Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
  • Develop, maintain, and update sanitation SOPs and procedures as needed.
  • Inspect machinery and production areas to verify sanitation standards have been met before release to production.
  • Work closely with Quality Assurance, Production, Maintenance, and other departments to address sanitation and food safety concerns.
  • Monitor sanitation supplies, chemicals, and equipment to ensure adequate inventory and proper usage.
  • Identify sanitation deficiencies and implement corrective actions.
Required Qualifications
  • 3+ years of sanitation experience, preferably within food manufacturing or food processing.
  • Previous experience leading, supervising, or managing a sanitation crew strongly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of GMPs, HACCP, sanitation procedures, food safety, and contamination prevention.
  • Knowledge of sanitation chemicals, proper chemical dilution, SDS requirements, and safe chemical handling.
  • Familiarity with FDA, USDA, OSHA, and other applicable food manufacturing regulations.
  • Understanding of plant operations, equipment sanitation, waste disposal, and sanitation scheduling.
  • Strong organizational, time-management, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to hold a team accountable to established sanitation standards.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
