QC Technician

General Summary

This position is responsible for sampling, testing, and inspecting construction materials or elements in a laboratory or field setting to ensure compliance with supplier and/or owner specifications.

• Test and inspect products at various stages of the production process; compile and evaluate statistical data to determine and maintain quality and reliability of products.
• Obtain and maintain certifications as required to perform testing.
• Maintain thorough understanding of specifications, testing and reporting requirements.
• Communicate and schedule QC activities with crew and inspection personnel.
• Interpret specifications and discuss/argue with crew and inspection staff; make decisions based on knowledge of specifications and testing requirements.
• Interpret engineering drawings to ensure work is performed in accordance with plans and specifications.
• Collect material samples, send samples to lab, interpret test results, and distribute information to crews and inspection staff.
• Maintain all QC log books and reports in accordance with specifications.
• Follow all OSHA and company safety policies and procedures, including attendance at safety meetings.

High School Diploma, GED or equivalent.

0-2 years of related experience required.

• Basic computer skills.
• DL (driver's license) required.
• Ability to be on your feet and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to communicate and schedule QC activities.
• Ability to interpret specifications and engineering drawings.

The employee is regularly required to talk and hear, stand, walk, sit and use hands to operate a computer keyboard; occasionally required to reach with hands and arms, and lift or move up to 50 pounds.
