An established commercial vehicle operator is looking to recruit an experienced HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic to join its busy workshop in Coalville.

This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a professional and well-equipped team, working on a varied fleet of tractor units, rigid vehicles and trailers. • Carrying out routine servicing, inspections and preventative maintenance on tractor units, rigid vehicles and trailers.
• Preparing vehicles and trailers for MOT inspections.
• Diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults efficiently.
• Repairing and replacing components including:
• oBraking systems
• oSuspension
• oSteering
• oAxles
• oTransmission components
• Completing repair documentation accurately using digital workshop systems.
• Carrying out vehicle modifications and component installations where required.
• Ensuring all work is completed safely and in accordance with manufacturer recommendations and Health & Safety procedures.
• Working as part of a proactive workshop team to minimise vehicle downtime.

We're looking for someone with:

• Previous experience as an HGV Technician, HGV Mechanic or Commercial Vehicle Technician.
• Strong mechanical knowledge of heavy goods vehicles.
• Good diagnostic and fault-finding abilities across mechanical and electrical systems.
• The ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• A proactive approach with excellent attention to detail.
• Good organisational and time management skills.

• Level 3 NVQ, City & Guilds or equivalent qualification in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair.
• Experience preparing vehicles for MOT.
• Knowledge of diagnostic equipment and workshop software.
