Job DescriptionThe Engineer Service role is to carry out service and repairs to equipment on customer sites in a safe, professional and cost‑effective manner, maintaining documentation in line with Health and Safety and Quality procedures. The role requires working to a planned schedule of service and maintenance jobs at client premises, monitoring van stock, and ensuring sufficient parts for daily fleet maintenance.
Responsibilities- Inspect and monitor the safety of repaired and maintained trucks.
- Accurately complete job sheets, timesheets, purchase requisitions and parts paperwork within required timescales.
- Take responsibility for all equipment and tooling (van, laptop, tablet, etc.) and ensure they are in a safe condition for the type of work being undertaken.
- Work to strict planned schedules and deadlines.
Applicants must have knowledge of at least one of the following areas and be willing to receive additional training:
- Mechanical engineering
- Electrical engineering
- Hydraulics
Other essential skills and qualifications:
- Must hold full UK driving licence.
- Proficient in fault finding and repair.
- Minimum GCSE grades C in English and Maths.
- Experience of Health & Safety requirements in a workshop setting.
- Commitment to personal and professional development.
- Excellent organisational skills, resourceful and solution‑driven.
- High standard of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to multi‑task and prioritise workloads to meet tight deadlines.
- Ability to work independently or in a team.
- Clear oral and written communication skills.

Desired:
- Recent and relevant experience in forklift truck service environment.
- Engineering qualification.
- Hours:
Monday to Friday – 08:00 am to 04:30 pm, 30‑minute lunch. - Company vehicle: A company van and fuel card are provided, with optional private use (subject to tax regulations).
