Field Service Engineer - Scotland

The Engineer Service role is to carry out service and repairs to equipment on customer sites in a safe, professional and cost‑effective manner, maintaining documentation in line with Health and Safety and Quality procedures. The role requires working to a planned schedule of service and maintenance jobs at client premises, monitoring van stock, and ensuring sufficient parts for daily fleet maintenance.

• Inspect and monitor the safety of repaired and maintained trucks.
• Accurately complete job sheets, timesheets, purchase requisitions and parts paperwork within required timescales.
• Take responsibility for all equipment and tooling (van, laptop, tablet, etc.) and ensure they are in a safe condition for the type of work being undertaken.
• Work to strict planned schedules and deadlines.

Applicants must have knowledge of at least one of the following areas and be willing to receive additional training:

• Mechanical engineering
• Electrical engineering
• Hydraulics

Other essential skills and qualifications:

• Must hold full UK driving licence.
• Proficient in fault finding and repair.
• Minimum GCSE grades C in English and Maths.
• Experience of Health & Safety requirements in a workshop setting.
• Commitment to personal and professional development.
• Excellent organisational skills, resourceful and solution‑driven.
• High standard of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Ability to multi‑task and prioritise workloads to meet tight deadlines.

Desired:

• Recent and relevant experience in forklift truck service environment.
• Engineering qualification.

• Hours:
  
  Monday to Friday – 08:00 am to 04:30 pm, 30‑minute lunch.
