What Does a Life As Plasterer Look Like

Plastering is a core function within the construction sector especially in house building and refurbishments. You will learn about different products and how to manage a job which varies with materials. You will be responsible for mixing and applying plaster to inside walls and ceilings, working with dry lining, and applying protective coverings onto external walls. Roles in plastering are physical and may involve lifting and moving equipment, working at height, and working inside and outside.

  • The apprenticeship course will cover the following
  • Develop and maintain good working relations
  • Conform to Workplace health safety and welfare
  • Apply solid plaster to various backgrounds
  • Apply solid plaster to complex surfaces
  • Produce complex external rendering finishes
  • Install mechanically fixed plasterboard
What You Need to Be a Successful Applicant
  • Have the potential to work at SCQF level 6/7
  • The ability and desire to learn and develop knowledge of the skills, technology and safety procedures required to carry out the full range of tasks
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to establish and maintain good customer/client relationships
  • Candidates will undertake a pre-employment assessment
  • You must live within a North Lanarkshire postcode and be able to independently travel to and from the branch
