Position: Electrician – Cochrane Sawmill.

Location: Cochrane, ON.

Green First is looking for an electrician to work within a team to perform maintenance on electrical and/or instrumentation and control systems, install, repair, modify, and troubleshoot industrial equipment for electrical/electronic distribution and control (power and domestic).

Responsibilities:

• Perform electrical work as required: installation, repair, troubleshooting, testing, and analysis of equipment.
• Read and interpret electrical code specifications, blueprints, and circuit diagrams.
• Conduct preventive maintenance programs on electrical equipment.
• Complete appropriate paperwork, machine/panel documentation, and preventative maintenance records.
• In emergencies, make temporary or permanent repairs to minimize production interruption.
• Assist with other duties to support the maintenance team to meet department requirements.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.

Requirements:

• Graduate of an Electrical Engineering Technology program or equivalent.
• Valid Electrician License Construction & Maintenance (C&M) 309A or an Industrial Electrician 442A.
• Good communication and leadership skills.
• Ability to read and understand electrical prints.
• Ability to set priorities and work with minimum supervision.
• Strong computing and troubleshooting ability.
• Teamwork and self-starting work ethic.
• Knowledge of Lockout: isolation and de-energization of all energy sources for the work area.
• Bilingualism is an asset (French and English).
