About the Role:In this role, you will lead audit and assurance engagements from planning through completion, ensuring high-quality deliverables and adherence to professional standards. You will serve as a key point of contact for engagement teams and firm leadership, coordinating work streams and timelines across multiple assignments. Your role will have a direct impact on client satisfaction, team effectiveness, and the continuous improvement of audit processes.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead the planning, execution, and completion of audit and assurance (A&A) engagements in accordance with firm and professional standards.
- Coordinate and manage engagement timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure projects are delivered on schedule.
- Review work papers and deliverables prepared by staff, providing clear feedback and guidance to ensure accuracy and quality.
- Identify, research, and resolve complex technical accounting and auditing issues arising during engagements.
- Communicate proactively with firm leadership and engagement teams regarding scheduling, availability, and project status.
- Collaborate with clients to obtain necessary information, clarify issues, and present audit findings in a clear and professional manner.
- Support the development of junior team members through on-the-job coaching and knowledge sharing.
- Minimum 3 years of recent audit and assurance experience in public accounting or a similar professional services environment.
- Strong understanding of A&A engagement methodologies, standards, and best practices.
- Demonstrated project management skills, including managing multiple engagements and deadlines.
- Proven ability to identify and address technical accounting and auditing issues.
- Comfortable working in a hybrid environment, effectively managing time and deliverables both on-site and remotely.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients and internal stakeholders.
- High level of accountability, reliability, and attention to detail.
Skills:
- Experience supervising and mentoring junior audit staff.
- Exposure to a range of industries and complex engagement types.
- Familiarity with common audit software and data analytics tools.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field required.
- CPA license obtained or actively in process of obtaining (exam completion or near completion strongly preferred).
- Additional professional certifications (e.g., CIA, CISA) are a plus.
