Project Manager – Water/Wastewater (Full‑time, Hunt Valley, MD)
Johnson, Mirmiran & Thompson is a fully employee‑owned consulting firm providing multidisciplinary engineering services.
Position SummaryResponsible for delivering complex multi‑discipline engineering projects from inception to completion within the water/wastewater sector.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities- Manage project internal and external engineering resources, government agencies, and client staffing to deliver the proposed scope on time and within budget.
- Serve as the point of contact for clients, contractors, and internal/external design and construction teams.
- Build and develop client relationships and seek opportunities for repeat business and/or new opportunities.
- Communicate and coordinate with team members to ensure project completion by defined milestones and quality guidelines.
- Oversee multiple multidisciplinary projects, ensuring adherence to protocols and practices.
- Provide direction and guidance to multidisciplinary design team members and facilitate technical coordination between disciplines.
- Resolve technical conflicts and mitigate risks within projects.
- Ensure projects are constructed in accordance with design, budget, and schedule.
- Coordinate administrative aspects including contract reviews, bidding, scheduling, month‑end processing, project accounting, and reporting.
- Represent the organization at community and/or business meetings.
- Create project proposals, budgets, work breakdowns, rough order estimates, schedules, and integration plans.
- Develop monthly progress reports and review internal and sub‑consultant invoicing.
- Provide expertise and consulting to project managers in project management execution and lessons learned.
- Establish and coordinate improvements to project management processes and procedures.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, SharePoint, Outlook).
- Experience using scheduling software (Project or P6) is a plus.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or architecture from an accredited program.
- Registered Professional Engineer (PE) or Registered Architect (AIA).
- 10+ years of design and construction project management of multidisciplinary projects, including design oversight, statement of work development, and project reporting. Experience with water/wastewater facilities is a plus.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus.
Work is performed in a general office environment with occasional field visits. Conditions may include outdoor exposure to heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid environments; lifting up to 50 lbs.; regional travel within MD, VA, PA, NJ, and DE. Some duties may require standing and walking.

Compensation: $60.00 – $75.00 per hour, commensurate with experience, education, and certifications.
