Entry Level Structural Engineer – Bridges – AECOM, Hunt Valley, MD.

AECOM is actively seeking to add a Structural Engineer for our Hunt Valley, MD office. The position is expected to begin as soon as possible.

• Perform assignments related to the design, analysis, rehabilitation, and inspection of highway bridges and ancillary structures.
• Prepare engineering-related calculations and develop drawings and visual aids.
• Perform condition inspections and/or field instrumentation of highway bridges or other structures in a variety of environments including confined spaces and at height (proper training and personal protection equipment will be provided).
• Work under the supervision of a project manager or senior-level team member.

• Bachelor's Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering, or a related field, or demonstrated equivalency of education and/or experience.
• Due to the nature of the work, U.S. Citizenship is required.
• Valid U.S. Driver’s License is required to visit project sites, clients, and other AECOM offices. As a condition of employment, selected candidate must pass a Motor Vehicle Records review.

• Relevant intern and/or professional experience.
• Basic knowledge of industry-standard structural analysis computer software packages.
• Proficiency with industry-standard computer software, including typical office applications (Word, Excel, etc.).
• Proficiency in steel and concrete design and analysis.
• Ability to perform field work (bridge and drilling inspections).
• Engineer-In-Training (EIT) or Fundamentals of Engineering (FE).
• Successful completion of Safety Inspection of In-Service Bridges (FHWA-NHI-130055).
• Experience with ASIR and SAM.
• Experience with instrumentation of bridges (sensor installation, programming, and data processing).

• Relocation assistance is not available for this position.
• Sponsorship for US employment authorization is not available now or in the future for this position.
• Occasional travel to project sites including bridge inspections is required for this position, which may include some overnight stays.
• This position requires a hybrid work schedule which includes in-office work in Hunt Valley, MD. The selected candidate must be available to work in Hunt Valley, MD on a scheduled basis.
