About This Role

We believe people should love what they do – in this role, you will provide electrical support for the design, integration, and maintenance of electrical systems on a variety of technologies, ranging from land robotics to unmanned air systems for commercial and military programs in a fast-paced environment. These systems are experimental and cutting‑edge technological advancements that are intended to protect the warfighter in various theaters as well as provide civil support to many commercial applications.

The position involves supporting lab operations of component integration, modifications, assembly and test of ground vehicles, air vehicles, and surface vessels. The individual must be willing to support remote test sites, serving as a crew chief, safety lookout, and support and maintenance crew member during field testing. The role requires working from assembly documentation (work instructions, drawings, parts lists, diagrams) to assemble, wire and install a wide variety of components, either by hand or with semi‑automatic assembly equipment, and operating electronic and mechanical test equipment.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain and operate unmanned systems and support equipment
  • Troubleshoot electronic and general electrical systems
  • Assist engineers and designers with prototype development and testing
  • Support offsite testing and demonstrations
  • Actively perform lab maintenance, safety audits, and material tracking
  • Use small hand tools such as soldering irons, wire strippers, crimpers, wrenches, screwdrivers and pliers
  • Identify and document work order instruction or drawing errors
  • Maintain logbooks and records
  • Interpret drawings and schematics effectively
  • Provide support in the field; role does not directly supervise other employees
Qualifications
  • Associate’s degree preferred or related technical training and 2 or more years of experience
  • Basic knowledge of procedures and technical theory in assigned product areas
  • General electrical aptitude and ability to obtain IPC certification
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time, with possible international travel
  • Basic computer skills such as word processing, spreadsheets, and technical drawing packages
  • Ability to organize and set up tests with minimal guidance
  • Effective written and oral communication skills
  • Eligibility for and ability to maintain a SECRET level security clearance
  • Team player who can work with minimal supervision
  • Unmanned systems knowledge or experience preferred
  • Physical ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds
  • Ability to work extended hours to meet program goals
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks
  • Ability to work in extreme weather conditions
  • Ability to work on naval vessels
  • Ability to work in tight quarters and confined spaces
  • Working knowledge of military specifications is a plus
