Test Engineer I
Textron Systems is seeking new and recent graduates to join our Sea Systems business area to develop solutions in support of our unmanned surface vehicles programs. Your day may include designing, simulating, constructing, and field-testing autonomous surface vehicles and their subsystems. Our goal is to deliver disruptive autonomy technologies that enhance our customers' mission capabilities.
Responsibilities:
- Design, development, and execution of tests for products to ensure quality, functionality, and reliability.
- Creating test plans, writing test cases, identifying defects, and collaborating with development teams for fixes.
- Test Planning & Design:
Understand requirements, define scope, objectives, and resources, then create detailed test plans, strategies, and procedures. - Test Case Development:
Write specific test cases and scripts for various tests (functional, performance, security, etc.). - Test Execution:
Run tests, monitor the development and production process, and manage controlled testing environments. - Defect Management:
Identify, document, report, and track software/hardware and product defects. - Collaboration & Feedback:
Work with developers, process engineers, and management to provide insights, suggest improvements, and ensure quality standards are met. - Reporting:
Analyze results, document findings, preparing and presenting test engineering work products to internal review teams and external customers.
Qualifications:
0 – 2 years demonstrated project leadership experience preferred. Experience with hardware and/or software integration, managing requirements derivation and allocation, or architecture design. Bachelor's and/or master's degree in engineering (software, mechanical, electrical, systems) or a related field. Effective and efficient writing and presentation skills. Experience with Windows and/or Unix operating systems is a plus. Active Secret Clearance preferred;
Secret eligibility required.

The pay range for this position is $71,400 - $107,000 per year.
