Business Valuation - Practice Leader

This Business Valuation Practice Leader position is a newly created opportunity within an award winning national consulting and public accounting firm with over 400 employees and clients throughout over 40 states. This strategic Business Valuation leadership role will help drive and manage the firms continued expansion through managing and executing complex business valuation engagements across various industries, delivering high-quality financial insights, providing strategic guidance to clients, and mentoring a team of valuation professionals.

Based in the firms Cockeysville, MD office, the Practice Leader position will offer a compensation package comprised of a base salary in the $250,000 to $275,000 range, a competitive annual bonus, comprehensive benefits plan, equity ownership, excellent PTO, plus additional incentives. • Lead and manage business valuation engagements for a diverse set of clients in multiple industries.
• Conduct in-depth financial analysis, including discounted cash flow (DCF), comparable company analysis, precedent transaction analysis, and asset-based approaches.
• Develop detailed financial models and valuation reports in compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., ASC 805, ASC 350, IRC 409A, Fair Value Measurement).
• Advise clients on valuation methodologies, financial projections, and business drivers to enhance decision-making.
• Oversee client relationships and provide strategic insights tailored to business objectives.
• Stay updated on market trends, regulatory changes, and valuation best practices to enhance the firm’s valuation capabilities.
• Mentor and develop junior valuation professionals, fostering a culture of continuous learning and excellence.

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; MBA or Master’s degree preferred.
• 10+ years of experience in business valuation, investment banking, corporate finance, or a related field.
• Relevant certifications such as CFA, ASA, ABV, or CVA strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated track record of revenue generation via new clients.
• Deep expertise in valuation methodologies, financial modeling, and financial statement analysis.
• Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
• Excellent communication and presentation abilities with a track record of client engagement and leadership.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and work effectively under tight deadlines.
