Assistant Service Manager

We are looking for an Assistant Service Manager for our Dundalk, MD branch location. This individual will be responsible for managing the daily work of Technicians and/or Field Service Managers (FSM's) and other team members in the Service Department.

• Hires, trains, oversees Technicians and/or Field Service Managers
• Guides, advises and mentors Technicians and/or Field Service Managers
• Conducts performance evaluations that are both timely and constructive
• Handles discipline and termination of employees as needed in accordance with company policy

• Manages the daily work of Field Service Technicians and FSM's
• Manages the Work In Process (WIP)
• Help to answer phones, help customers with technical questions
• Schedule and assist Field Service Technicians and FSM's daily
• Assists Field Service Technicians and FSM's on difficult jobs and when they need additional help
• Communicates effectively to customers on repair work as needed
• Works with other managers, sales representative and other staff to establish labor costs
• Assists, coaches, mentors, supports other service members and staff as needed
• Performs other related duties as required

• Thorough understanding of industry services, customers, procedures, and policies
• Material Handling Industry experience strongly preferred
• Ability to motivate, mentor and coach service staff and managers
• Thorough knowledge of all technical aspects of forklifts, heavy equipment and other related Material Handling Equipment
• Strong organizational skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Technical and diagnostic skills required
• Read and understand schematics

$70,000- $100,000 annual base salary range. Compensation is based on experience.
