Job SummaryThe Dog Care Professional is responsible for supervising structured group play, supporting positive canine behavior, and maintaining a clean, healthy facility. This role requires hands‑on dog handling, behavior observation, enrichment implementation, and health monitoring. Ideal candidates are dependable, calm under pressure, and passionate about dog care and wellness.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise structured dog playgroups and manage group dynamics
- Promote safe dog-to-dog interactions using calm, confident handling
- Observe canine body language and recognize stress, fatigue, illness, or injury
- Redirect unwanted behaviors using positive reinforcement techniques
- Lead dogs through purposeful exercises and enrichment activities
- Support canine wellness through feeding, rest periods, medication administration and specialty wellness programs
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of play areas, kennels, and common spaces
- Document and communicate behavioral or health concerns to leadership
Provide professional, compassionate communication with pet parents
- Strong interest in dog daycare, animal care, or canine behavior
- Experience with dogs (daycare, training, grooming, veterinary, or rescue) preferred but not required
- Ability to handle dogs of all sizes, breeds, and energy levels
- Calm, confident demeanor in a fast‑paced environment
- Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented
- Availability to work weekends and holidays
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and remain active throughout shifts
