Position: Adjunct Faculty - Science and Engineering (On-going)
To provide for future needs, as vacancies occur, the College is compiling a database of qualified candidates for part-time teaching opportunities for all of its campuses. Applications for part-time faculty are accepted on an ongoing basis and submitted applications will also be considered for teaching opportunities on all of EFSC's campuses.

Eastern Florida State College is in need of part-time Adjunct Instructors for the current Academic School Year in the following disciplines:

Astronomy Biomedical Biotechnology Botany

Biology Chemistry Physics Geology

Horticulture Microbiology Meterology Oceanography

Zoology Environmental Science Engineering

Salary & Benefit

Rates of pay are as follows:

* $730.71/credit hour
* $30.43/contact hour

* Masters Degree
* $651.78/credit hour
* $26.40/contact hour

* Baccalaureate Degree or less
* $584.63/credit hour
* $23.55/contact hour

Position Concept

Eastern Florida State College is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges - known as SACSCOC - to award the Bachelor of Applied Science, Associate in Arts, Associate in Science, Associate in Applied Science degrees, and College Credit and Postsecondary Adult Vocational Certificates. Minimum Qualifications

These Adjunct faculty positions require:

A Master's degree with a major in the discipline to be taught from a regionally-accredited institution OR A Master's degree with at least 18 graduate semester hours in the discipline to be taught from a regionally-accredited institution.

To be considered for a teaching position, you are required to submit, as part of your completed Eastern Florida State College employment application, copies of the appropriate transcripts to reflect that you have met this requirement. During the application process, photocopies of the transcripts may be submitted.

This position will require successful fingerprinting and the candidate chosen will be required to pay the associated fee (currently $36.00). Valid Florida Motor Vehicle Operator's license required within 30 days of hire.

Official transcripts of all collegiate work (as appropriate for the position) must be sent directly from the attended institution to the Human Resources Office prior to the first day of employment. All foreign degrees must have a course-by-course official evaluation and translation sent to the Human Resources Office directly from an evaluation company affiliated with the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services, Inc.

Notes

Part-time faculty members are hired on a term by term basis. Individuals employed in this capacity are enrolled in the Alternative Plan to Social Security in lieu of Social Security.
