Part-Time Position at Brevard County Library Services Department

This part-time position at North Area/Port St. John Public Library involves 20 hours per week with a variable work schedule that includes evenings and weekends. The role provides experienced paraprofessional library work, primarily in the Reference Services section. Responsibilities include assisting the public with computer-based database and Internet searches, printers, library-related services on mobile phones and eReaders, and supporting various library programs.

Employees may also be directed to other libraries when usage statistics change and are required to perform emergency duties during hurricanes or other major disasters.

Two (2) years of college coursework in any field at an accredited college or university [30 semester (45 quarter) hours = one (1) year]; OR two (2) years of library or customer service experience. Additional qualifying education and/or experience may be substituted on a year for year basis.

Library employees may be assigned to another library when usage statistics change. In the event of a hurricane, major storm, natural or man-made disaster that may threaten the area, the employee will be required to perform emergency duties as directed.
