Senior AI&T Engineering Technician

Position Summary

The Senior AI&T Technician will lead and support the planning, design, and execution of processes and procedures required to perform module and satellite level assembly, integration, and test activities. Activities will support satellite manufacturing, qualification testing, and launch integration operations. The Senior AI&T Technician will handle flight hardware and operate EGSE/MGSE in the factory, at the test facilities, and at launch sites as needed to support mission requirements.

• Lead and perform AIT activities across multiple programs in the various phases of the mission – design, manufacturing, qualification testing, and launch:
  • Assemble and test flight hardware in accordance with work instructions or technical manuals using hand tools, power tools, smart tools, and various measuring devices.
  • Perform hardware repairs or implement software updates, as prescribed by the engineering work instructions.
  • Set up and operate GSE and other specialized test equipment (including thermal chambers and optical measurement devices) to perform production, qualification, and acceptance test procedures.
  • Operate hoists, cranes, forklifts, and other equipment necessary to safely maneuver flight hardware during integration activities.
  • Read blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematic drawings, manuals, or engineering work instructions.
  • Document test equipment, installation or operational problems, repairs, or corrective actions performed during assembly and test.
  • Maintain system logs or manuals to document testing or operation of equipment.
  • Identify, report, and resolve integration and test failures by working with AIT and the responsible Systems Engineer.
  • Maintain parts, equipment, and tooling inventory and related documentation.
