Painter
As a Painter, you will be responsible for preparing steel beams for painting, ensuring they are clean, sanded, and free from rust or debris. You will operate spray painting equipment, mix paint colors to specifications, and apply paint evenly and smoothly to steel beams. Proper documentation and preparation for painting are essential, along with following safety measures to ensure a well-ventilated environment.
You will inspect painted steel beams for quality, make touch-ups or corrections as needed, maintain and clean painting equipment and work areas, and coat steel with primer and paint before loading them onto trucks for shipment.
- Prepare steel beams for painting by cleaning, sanding, and removing rust or debris.
- Set up and operate spray painting equipment.
- Select and mix paint colors according to specifications.
- Ensure proper ventilation and safety measures during the painting process.
- Inspect painted steel beams for quality and make necessary touch-ups.
- Maintain and clean painting equipment and work areas.
- Follow all safety guidelines and procedures.
- Apply primer and paint coatings and load steel onto trucks for shipment.
- 2+ years of industrial painting experience.
- Proficiency in paint preparation, sanding, and spray gun operation.
- Ability to operate spray guns at 250sqft/hr.
- Experience in industrial painting and paint shop environments.
Skills & Qualifications
- Crane operating experience.
- Attention to detail and quality control in painting.

You will be part of a large manufacturing company working with structural steel and using overhead cranes to move metal. The work environment can be cold in winter and hot in summer, with a strong emphasis on safety. Work hours are typically Monday to Friday, 6 AM to 4 PM.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Cocoa, FL.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $22.00 - $30.00/hr eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
