Position Purpose
Under the general supervision of the School Principal, facilitate student success and growth in academic and interpersonal skills through implementing district‑approved curriculum; documenting teaching and student progress, activities, and outcomes; addressing specific educational needs of individual students and creating a flexible, safe, and optimal learning environment; and providing feedback to students, parents, and administration regarding student progress, expectations, goals, etc.
Park County School District 6 Elementary Classroom Teacher Essential Functions- Develops and administers elementary curriculum consistent with district goals and objectives.
- Promotes a classroom environment that is safe and conducive to individualized and small‑group instruction.
- Develops lesson plans and instructional materials and translates lesson plans into learning experiences to best utilize instructional time.
- Conducts ongoing assessment of student learning, and modifies instructional methods to fit individual student needs, including students with special needs; conducts individual and small‑group instruction as needed.
- Instructs students in responsible citizenship principles and other subject matters specified by applicable laws, including administrative regulations and procedures.
- Continues to acquire professional knowledge and stay current through seminars, workshops, professional meetings, or research.
- Organizes and maintains accurate record‑keeping, grading, and reporting for all student activities, achievements, and attendance as required by district procedures and laws.
- Encourages parental involvement and maintains effective communication with students and parents.
- Ensures student conduct conforms to school standards and district policies, establishing and maintaining behavior standards for a functional learning atmosphere.
- Coordinates with other elementary staff, especially grade‑level colleagues, to evaluate curriculum and participates in faculty meetings and committees.
- Selects and requisitions appropriate books, instructional aids, supplies, and equipment, and maintains inventory records.
- Supervises students during out‑of‑classroom activities, including school transportation.
- Administers standardized tests in accordance with district testing programs.
Performs other related tasks as assigned by the Principal or central office administrators designated by the Superintendent.

Travel RequirementsTravels to school district buildings and professional meetings as required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities- Knowledge of current teaching methods and educational pedagogy, differentiating instruction based on student learning styles.
- Knowledge of elementary school curriculum and concepts.
- Knowledge of data information systems, data analysis, and formulation of action plans.
- Knowledge of applicable federal and state education laws.
- Ability to use computer network systems and software applications.
- Ability to organize and coordinate work.
- Ability to communicate effectively with students and parents.
- Ability to engage in self‑evaluation for professional growth.
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships.
Works in standard office and school building environments.

Qualifications Profile- Certification/License:
- Wyoming State Certification as an Elementary Teacher
- Wyoming State Certification in the appropriate grade level preferred.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Elementary Education or related discipline applicable to teaching assignment.
- Master's degree in a related area preferred.
Successful prior teaching experience for the appropriate grade levels is a plus.
