Substitute Nurse 2026-2027 School Year

A substitute nurse is on-call employee of a school. A substitute nurse may be called the day before they are needed or early in the morning on the day of the absence of the regular nurse due to illness or other obligations. The nurse is responsible for carrying out the duties of the nurse for whom he/she is substituting and meeting the needs of students as outlined in laws and policies.

Salary - $30.00/hour

A substitute nurse is on-call employee of a school. The nurse is responsible for carrying out the duties of the nurse for whom he/she is substituting and meeting the needs of students as outlined in laws and policies.

• Possess current license to practice as a registered professional nurse in Wyoming.

• Appraises health status of students and provides supervision regarding their health status.
• Renders first aid as necessary to students and staff members as required during the school day.
• Provides information to staff members or students who have special health needs.
• Assists the building principal in determining which students may need to be excluded from school in case of a medical emergency or epidemic situation.
• Follows all school district policies and procedures.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
