Position: CERTIFIED NURSING ASSISTANT (CNA) - NWSC (PRN)

Certified Nursing Assistant

The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) provides supportive patient care and clinical assistance in the preoperative, postoperative, and procedure areas under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN). The CNA assists with patient preparation, observation, comfort, mobility, vital signs, environmental readiness, and other delegated patient-care activities within demonstrated competency and authorized scope. The CNA works collaboratively with the RN, Clinical Supervisor, Clinical Administrator, physicians, anesthesia providers, and other members of the healthcare team to support safe patient care, efficient patient flow, and a positive patient experience.

The CNA must possess a high degree of confidentiality in all matters with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy. Ability to work collaboratively with patients, families, nurses, physicians, anesthesia providers, and other Center personnel. Must possess an understanding of medical terminology. Knowledge of surgical nursing principles. Knowledge of aseptic technique and infection control principles.

Able to perform effectively in highly stressful situations. Must be well-motivated, organized, accurate, attentive to detail, timely, and dependable, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple assigned tasks effectively. Excellent communication skills. Effective computer and keyboarding skills. Must have ability to learn and use Microsoft Office Suite products including Word and Outlook. Ability to learn new computer software applications.

Demonstrates clinical competency appropriate to the CNA role in an ambulatory patient-care setting. Ability to obtain accurate vital signs, observe patients, and promptly communicate findings or changes in condition to the RN. Ability to follow directions, delegated assignments, policies, and established patient-care processes.
