Travel RN - PACU

American Traveler is hiring a PACU RN for a Perioperative/Outpatient Services role requiring WY or compact RN licensure and PALS certification.

Requirements

• Active WY or compact RN license required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
• TNCC certification required within 6 months of hire
• National perioperative certification preferred
• Minimum 2 years of experience in acute care or surgical services preferred
• Knowledge of perioperative and post-anesthesia care nursing principles, aseptic technique, and infection control
• Strong hemodynamic monitoring, arrhythmia recognition, and ACLS/PALS intervention skills
• Excellent communication skills and ability to perform effectively in high-stress situations

Responsibilities

• Perioperative and Outpatient Services setting covering pre-op, PACU, procedural sedation, and post-op care
• Cares for a full range of patients from newborn through geriatric adult
• Day shift schedule, , 4 days per week
• Call requirements apply
• Holiday coverage required

• Provide direct patient care including assessment, treatment, and evaluation of outcomes for a range of ages
• Prepare patients for procedures, assist physicians, and monitor hemodynamic status
• Administer and monitor IV fluids and medications based on patient condition and age
• Educate patients and families and review discharge instructions
• Maintain accurate nursing documentation throughout the care process
• Assist with orientation of new staff and mentor nursing students
• Coordinate patient transfers and communicate with other departments as needed
• Attend mandatory in-services, education days, and department meetings
• Candidates must reside more than 100 miles from the facility to be considered
