JOB TITLE:Food Service Worker – BISTRO CAFE
JOB SUMMARYProvide fast and courteous service of food and beverages to residents and patients and ensure quality of food and beverage presentation per established standards.
OFFERING SIGN-ON BONUS! JOB REQUIREMENTS- High School graduate or equivalent preferred.
- Basic reading and writing.
- Communication skills are utilized a significant amount of time when interacting with residents, guests, other departments, cooks, and supervisors.
- May be required to work nights, weekends, and or holidays.
Food service experience preferred. Food service in a healthcare setting preferred, but not required.
SKILLS- Ability to write notes and brief instructions using correct spelling and grammar.
- Ability to learn new computer software applications.
- Adapt to pressure and deadlines.
- Must be able to function as a team member.
- Is kind, courteous and is able to get along with co-workers and with all staff.
- Deliver friendly and efficient customer service.
- Speak clearly and present information orally.
- Ability to speak, read, understand, and write English.
- Apply common sense understanding to carry out written and oral instructions.

- Clear and reset tables and assist with opening and closing tasks.
- Serve residents and guests in the Long Term Care during meal periods and snacks.
- Assist in cold preparation and delivery of meals.
- Prepare food and beverages for service to residents and community guests and present food according to established health and presentation standards.
- Clear and clean tables in a prompt and efficient manner. Clean and/or wipe down tables, chairs, walls, windows, mirrors, and floors as necessary.
- Perform side-work and any other opening or closing duties as required. Ensure stations are clean and maintained throughout shift.
- Alert management of any service and/or safety issues. Make appropriate service recovery gestures according to established guidelines to ensure total guest satisfaction.
- Stock dining room with necessary items for meal periods as well as stocking the nurse’s stations with request as provided.
- Cleaning after all meal periods includes: doing dishes, setting up dining room for next meal period.
- Follow dietary requirements for all residents and ensure serving food according to each diet safely.
- May assist with other duties as assigned.
- Attend department meetings and in-services.
