Mine​/Mill Maintenance Mechanic

Why do we need you ?

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB

Ensures operation of mobile and stationary mining machinery including milling facility by completing preventive maintenance requirements on engines, motors, hydraulic system, pneumatic system, conveyor systems, and production machines; following diagrams, sketches, schematic, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions

Responsibilities

* Knowledge and use of CMMS (Maintain

X or other) maintenance program. Manage all work orders generated daily

* Removes defective parts by dismantling devices; using hoists, cranes, and hand and power tools; examining form and texture of parts.

* Orders needed equipment, parts, and supplies. Inform Management of all purchases.

* Conserves maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.

* Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.

* Provides mechanical maintenance information by answering questions and requests.

* Controls downtime by informing production workers of routine preventive maintenance techniques; monitoring compliance

* Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations

Other Duties

* Recommends improvement in maintenance and operational procedures and equipment, including some design or redesign of machinery, equipment or installations.

* Follows all safety policies and procedures; is responsible for individual safety and the safety of others.

* Performs other related duties that contribute to the success of the operation as assigned by supervisor/manager. This will include operating Mining equipment to diagnose issues.

* Abides by the guidelines and procedures established by the company. Always cooperates with team members in the best interest of the business. Regularly demonstrates VMVO standards.

Working Conditions

* Exposure to industrial environments including dust, noise, and varying temperatures.

* May require overtime, weekend, or holiday work.

* Must be able to work around heavy equipment and in physically demanding conditions.

* Occasional lifting of equipment/tools exceeding 50 pounds.

Qualifications

* High School Diploma

* College Degree/HD Diesel Tech - preferred

* 2-5 years - General knowledge of HD Equipment repair

* 5-10 years - Extensive knowledge of HD equipment repair

* Certification in HD Diesel repair and maintenance - upon hire

* MSHA Part 48 - upon hire

* Professional experience and knowledge in the maintenance and repair of off-road mining equipment and milling equipment, such as mass excavators, haul trucks, track or wheel loader, dozers, over the road haul trucks, track drills, track miner, Raymond mill, screw conveyors, bucket elevators, safety qualifications, and professional maintenance of a crushing and screening operation.
