Jail Bureau Accounting Specialist
Kootenai County Sheriff's Office now hiring:
Jail Bureau Accounting Specialist
$22.07–$26.20/HR (DOE) Coeur d'Alene, Idaho | On-Site
The position involves advanced accounting and financial functions for Jail Bureau accounts, including Jail, Commissary, Inmate Reimbursement, Medical, Trust, and Work Release funds.
What you'll do:
- Process and reconcile financial accounts and bank statements.
- Receive, deposit, disburse, and track funds.
- Prepare checks, invoices, financial reports, and court-related documents.
- Process inmate reimbursements and collections.
- Coordinate with courts, banks, the Auditor's Office, collection agencies, and other partners.
- Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with applicable policies and laws.
- Provide administrative support to Jail Bureau leadership.
What you bring:
- Associate degree or certificate in accounting and three (3) years of related experience/training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong accounting, organizational, communication, and clerical skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and work accurately in a fast-paced environment.
