Work schedule summary: 5-10 hours per week during the fall semester (August 17 – December 19, 2026). Lab class meets Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays 10:30-11:20am starting August 24th. Additional work schedule flexible to meet needs of students and complete required tasks.
Position Responsibilities Position SummaryPosition Summary:
The position will serve as a teaching assistant for one section of BIOL 3150 Genetics Lab to be held at the Coeur d'Alene Harbor Center during the Fall 2026 semester. Responsibilities include working with Moscow-based instructor and graduate teaching assistants to offer consistent lab content delivery to students in Coeur d'Alene; maintaining wild-type and mutant lines of Drosophila and equipment and supplies needed for student-led genetic experiments;
overseeing safe work practices; mentoring student projects and answering questions; grading student lab reports.

Position QualificationsRequired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Biology or related field
- Prior coursework in Genetics
- Experience with Drosophila in education or research environment
- Experience teaching undergraduate laboratory courses
- Previous student in University of Idaho BIOL 315/3150 Genetics Laboratory
