  • Department Family Support Services - Kootenai Kids Daycare

Provides a safe, stimulating environment for young children. Creates and implements activities and lesson plans that simultaneously engage and educate children.

Responsibilities:

  • Incorporates child development using a child’s natural inclination to play
  • Conducts individual and group activities to encourage learning and develop social interaction skills
  • Provides diverse basic care needs, including preparing and supplying proper nutrition, performing cleaning duties and dealing with behavioral issues
  • Communicate with parents to discuss a child's educational development
  • Maintains appropriate records of attendance and activities
  • Performs other related duties as assigned
  • Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the field
  • Competent to meet age specific needs of the unit assigned
  • Regular and predictable attendance is an essential job function

Requirements and

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • 6 months of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified preferred
  • Teacher/Care Provider license issued by the City of Coeur d’Alene within 10 days of hire
  • CPR/AED/First Aid for the Adult, Child and Infant required

Working Conditions:

  • Heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects up to 50 pounds
  • Must be able to maintain a standing and/or sitting position
  • Typical equipment used in a clinical job
  • Frequent kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling climbing and twisting
