Position: Orientation and Mobility Specialist - Up to $50/hr

Orientation And Mobility Specialist

Orientation and Mobility Specialist supports students with visual impairments in a school setting, delivering individualized instruction to promote independence and navigation skills. This 36-week contract in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, offers up to $50/hr based on experience. The role requires certification and flexibility to meet student needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide orientation and mobility instruction to students with visual impairments in a school setting.
  • Develop individualized plans to foster independence in daily navigation skills.
  • Collaborate with educators and family members to implement mobility strategies.
  • Utilize assistive devices and mobility tools effectively to support student needs.
  • Monitor progress and adjust instruction techniques to ensure student success.
Qualifications:
  • Certified Orientation and Mobility Specialist certification or equivalent.
  • 0+ years of experience; experience in school settings preferred.
  • Available to work 4-5 days per week, 7:30am-3:30pm, adaptable to part-time or full-time schedules.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Background checks required.
