Lydig Construction is seeking a skilled, dynamic and innovative VDC Manager (Virtual Design and Construction) to lead the Virtual Design & Construction department across our projects. In this multi‑project leadership role, you’ll collaborate with internal teams and industry partners to deliver high-impact digital construction solutions that enhance project delivery, coordination, and client value. In addition, you will work with Lydig’s operations and business development departments, as well as business partners in the A/E/C industry, to integrate virtual design and construction into our projects.

This role is based out of our Spokane office and involves travel to oversee and support VDC initiatives company‑wide.   • Drive VDC strategy and adoption across operations, preconstruction, and field teams
  • Create and execute BIM Execution Plans aligned with project milestones
  • Lead BIM coordination meetings with internal and external stakeholders
  • Promote and implement new VDC technologies and workflows to improve efficiency and quality
Project Coordination & Delivery
  • Leading BIM Coordination Meetings amongst project stakeholders
  • Model & Constructability Review
  • QA/QC Building Systems Coordination
  • Coordination for Project Management team
  • Oversee constructability reviews and clash detection during design and construction phases
  • Develop and manage models for field layout, project sequencing (4D BIM), self‑perform work and logistics planning efforts with both Project Teams and Field Staff.
  • Utilize reality capture tools (laser scanning, drones) to document project conditions and support QA/QC
  • Deliver model‑based as‑built to support project turnover
Training & Support
  • Provide Marketing and Business Development with RFP process/responses, visuals, content and presentations
  • Support estimating and preconstruction through model‑based quantity takeoffs and logistics planning
  • Provide VDC training and mentorship for project teams and field staff
  • Train and implement Model‑Based viewing platforms for Project Teams use.
  • Maintain model libraries and company VDC standards
Qualifications
  • Demonstrated 4 years industry experience in commercial building construction
  • Demonstrated 4 years competence and consistent use in VDC technologies such as Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks, Autodesk Construction Cloud, Twinmotion, etc.
  • Experience with Autodesk Point Layout and Similar Field Layout Platforms Preferred
  • 5 additional years of industry experience or a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or Architecture is required.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours to meet project deadlines, prioritize multiple demands, and demonstrate strong internal service, integrity, and a commitment to continuous learning and adaptability.
  • Experience with estimating, various MEP systems, and reality capture technologies is preferred.
Other Requirements
  • Current driver’s license and an acceptable driving record as defined by Lydig’s insurance company and vehicle policy, if applicable for auto allowance
  • Must be able to pass pre‑employment checks including a Drug Screen, Criminal Background and possibly Credit check
  • Lydig is a drug‑free workplace, and all employees are considered to be in “safety sensitive” positions. All employees will be tested for controlled substances, including cannabis.

The salary range for this position is between $85,000 and $110,000 per annum, based on experience and qualifications.
