J-U-B Engineers () seeks an Electrical Designer Lead to support infrastructure projects across the Inland Northwest and Intermountain West. In this role you will lead electrical design for transportation, water/wastewater, aviation, and municipal facilities, preparing drawings, calculations, and specifications. You will review designs of junior staff, coordinate with civil and structural teams, support QA/QC, and help manage project schedules. The position offers mentorship, growth toward leadership, and the opportunity to impact communities in a collaborative, employee-owned environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead electrical design for transportation, water, wastewater, aviation, and municipal projects
- Develop electrical plans, drawings, calculations, and technical specifications
- Review and approve designs produced by junior electrical staff
- Coordinate with civil, structural, and other disciplines to integrate designs
- Support QA/QC processes to ensure code compliance and design quality
- Assist with project planning, scheduling, and design milestones
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to developing designers
- Collaborate with clients and internal teams to clarify project requirements
Required Skills
- Electrical system design for infrastructure projects
- Auto
- CADRevit MEP or similar BIM tools
- Short-circuit, load, and voltage drop calculations
- Lighting and power distribution design
- Understanding of NEC and applicable electrical codes
- Construction documents and technical specifications
- Coordination with multi-disciplinary engineering teams
- QA/QC for design deliverables
- Project scheduling and task management
