Responsible for receiving, unpacking, taking inventory, and stocking inbound medical and non-medical freight for the organization. Selects, distributes, issues, stocks, inventories, and/or processes returns for medical and non-medical supplies in support of assigned inpatient and outpatient departments. Follows applicable Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) guidance and safety requirements for working in both a hospital and warehouse environment.
Responsibilities- Receives inbound packages and processes for receipt in accordance with applicable policies
- Packs and/or crates products and materials for outbound shipping, selecting the most economical shipping method in accordance with published freight policies
- Fills orders and requisitions in support of assigned departments
- Performs inventory of medical and non-medical supplies as required per organizational policy
- Recommends updates to inventory locations, to include adding/deleting/changing locations and/or adjusting stocking levels
- Follows department and organization policies when working in sterile departments/areas
- Utilizes First-In-First-Out (FIFO) inventory management concepts and tracks supply outdates in assigned inventory locations
- Cleans and replenishes assigned Procedural Trays and Carts (excluding Case Carts)
- Possesses ability to learn/leverage Supply Chain technology solutions, to include ERP, bar code scanners, Mobile Supply Chain applications, and/or other technology as necessary
- Displays ability to professionally communicate via phone and/or in person with staff and vendors to provide exceptional customer service
- Understands and adheres to policies and follows acceptable Hospital Supply Chain practices
- Performs other related duties as assigned
- Regular and predictable attendance is an essential job function
- Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the field
- Competent to meet age specific needs of the unit assigned
- Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
Minimum Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred
- Complete Occupational Safety and Health Administration manual and electric pallet jack certification within 90 days of hire
- Must be able to lift or move up to 50 lbs
- Pushing with mechanical assistance heavy equipment and supplies up to 1000 pounds
- Must be able to maintain a standing and/or sitting position
- Must be able to stoop, crouch or bend
