Job Summary
Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) at Bio Life Plasma Services, a subsidiary of Takeda Pharmaceutical Company Ltd, reports to the Plasma Center Manager and supports plasma center operations by ensuring donor eligibility, safety, and quality compliance.
Responsibilities- Determine donor eligibility and manage informed consent, AIDS education, confidential self‑exclusion, medical history interview, and acceptance requirements.
- Conduct physical examinations, blood testing, and review serological protein electrophoresis (SPE) results.
- Manage donor adverse events, evaluate donor reactions, and follow SOPs for medical emergencies, including donor transport to emergency care facilities.
- Consult the Center Physician or Medical Affairs on medical findings and donor eligibility, and provide guidance on medical or technical issues.
- Support hepatitis B and seasonal flu vaccination programs for employees.
- Manage employee incidents, coordinate evaluations with occupational health/ER, and reference EHS guidance regarding incidents.
- Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized, supporting investigations of local pandemic threats.
- High school diploma or graduate equivalent of a recognized nursing program with state requirements.
- Current licensed or certified in the state where responsibilities will be assigned: LPN or LVN.
- Current CPR and AED certification.
- Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy.
- Successfully complete the FDA‑approved training requirements for Bio Life Medical Support Specialist.
- Minimum two years of clinical or hospital experience.
Hourly wage range: $23.04 – $31.68 (subject to qualifications, experience, and location). Eligible for U.S. based incentives, medical/dental/vision insurance, 401(k) with company match, short‑term and long‑term disability coverage, basic life insurance, tuition reimbursement, paid volunteer time off, company holidays, well‑being benefits, up to 80 hours of sick time per year, and up to 120 hours of paid vacation for new hires.
