1. General job duties:Must be able to manage heparin drips, patients with chest tubes, discontinue central lines, Ortho and Neuro patients. Primary patient population is cardiology patients CHF, bradycardic and tachycardic arrhythmias, pre and post pacemaker, pre and post cardiac cath, NSTEMI, rule out chest pain. 3N also takes general medical overflow patients. Nurse aides are available to do vital signs, blood sugars, ADL's, and ambulate patients.
Free standing charge nurse. An educational resource nurse is available to assist with skills, policy clarification, and general questions. The hospital also staffs a rapid response nurse to assist with emergencies.

3. Required skills and minimum years of experience:
• Three years of Med/Surg experience with strong Cardiac experience required
• Graduate of a nationally accredited Nursing program required
• ADN or diploma required; BSN or higher preferred
4. Specific licensures and certifications/registrations required: Nursing License or applicable Compact license BLS - AHA 5. Shift or schedule requirements: 36 hours/week; weekends required based on unit need
6. Floating to other units/departments:
May float to other Med Surg units. May float to PCU, if they have 1 year of PCU experience. 7. Bed size/number of rooms for this unit/dept. 30 Beds. Mix of private and semi-private (double) rooms.
8. Nurse to patient ratio of this unit:
Standard ratios are about 1:5. 9. Dress Code:
Navy blue scrubs required 10. Tell us about the unit/department specific training and orientation program:
Orientation is weekly, about 24 hours of course work and 24 hours of orientation on the unit.
