- Provide armed security throughout Kootenai County court facilities.
- Escort and supervise in-custody defendants between detention facilities and courtrooms.
- Maintain order and security during court proceedings.
- Conduct security inspections and search for weapons, contraband, and other safety threats.
- Serve as a first responder during emergencies, including fire alarms, evacuations, bomb threats, and critical incidents.
- Escort judges, jurors, court staff, and litigants during high-risk situations.
- Safeguard confidential information and maintain the integrity of court proceedings.
- Handle evidence while preserving chain of custody.
- Assist with jury operations, including juror management, data entry, and trial preparation.
- Serve as a professional resource for members of the public by providing information and directions.
- High school diploma or GED.
- At least 24 months of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to obtain or possess a valid driver's license.
- Ability to obtain and maintain First Aid, CPR, and required firearms certifications.
- Successfully pass quarterly firearms qualifications and annual Taser certification.
- Successfully complete a background investigation, pre-employment drug screening, and meet all county employment standards.
- No felony convictions or history of domestic violence.
- You are calm and confident under pressure.

- You have excellent communication and strong interpersonal skills.
- You are organized, dependable, and detail oriented.
- You can make sound decisions in fast-paced and high-stress situations.
