North Idaho College is seeking a dedicated campus Security Officer to help maintain a safe and welcoming environment for students, staff, faculty, and visitors. This is a high-impact rolewhere your calm presence and quick thinking make a real difference every day.
We're looking for individuals with strong conflict management skills and the ability to communicate effectively - especially intense or emergency situations. A working knowledge of Idaho laws,criminal codes, and NIC policies is key, along with the ability toapply that knowledge with professionalism and good judgment.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, reliable, and comfortablewriting clear incident reports, managing multiple priorities, and working collaboratively with college staff and local law enforcement. You should be tech-savvy and able to usecommunications systems, incident tracking tools, and parkingenforcement equipment with ease.
This role includes patrolling college property, responding to incidents, enforcing campus policies, and providing assistance tothe public. It requires flexibility to work rotating shifts ifneeded, including weekends and holidays.

Starting pay range: $19.05 - $21.91
* plus an additional $2per hour for graveyard shift rate Pay Grade:C7

Work Schedule: Graveyard Shift, 8:00pm-6:00am, 4 days perweek
Employment is contingent upon successful completion of background check and proof of degree if required for this position.
Required License and/or CertificationsMust possess a valid driver’s license. Taser CEW training and certification required within six months of employment. Training and certification in first aid, CPR/AED, fire and emergency response procedures, or the ability to attain certification withinsix months of employment is required.
Minimum QualificationsHigh School diploma or GED is required. One year full-time equivalent experience in law enforcement or military service, or 2 years full-time equivalentsecurity experience required. Must be able to successfully pass aback ground and fingerprint check and have no felonyconvictions.
Certification from a security or police academy is preferred.
