Position: HVAC Residential Installer (Journeyman)

Job Summary

The Residential Installer ensures proper and safe installation of all equipment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Perform expert installation and replacement of HVAC systems while maintaining company quality standards and ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Wear floor savers while in the client’s home. Use drop‑cloths to protect the client’s floors while performing an installation.
  • Always maintain a neat work area where you are working and properly clean up after the job is finished.
  • Re‑check each aspect of an installation before leaving the job to prevent unnecessary callbacks after the job is completed. Use the Installation Checklist.
  • Always explain the system to the client when finished with an installation and make sure that they are 100% satisfied with the work.
  • Mentor and train installation apprentices through hands‑on instruction, safety practices, and quality workmanship.
  • Meet or exceed performance goals and productivity standards established by management.
  • Meet established installation productivity goals as determined by management.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and professional company vehicle at all times.
  • Ability and willingness to flex when it comes to job changes to get the job done.
  • Fill out installation paperwork and turn it in in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Attend All Staff and Safety Meetings.
  • Adhere to and display the company’s Mission Statement, Vision Statement and Core Values.
Qualifications
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Idaho HVAC Journeyman card or equivalent experience.
  • Must have a current EPA Certification card or be in the process of obtaining one (if applicable).
  • 5+ years’ experience in the HVAC trade.
  • Must have own set of tools.
  • Must be a self‑starter and be able and willing to lead.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Must be able to pass a Background Check and have a passable driving record according to company insurance requirements.
  • Must understand current regulations within the field.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills on a technical level.
  • Able to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • General knowledge of power tools and techniques for care and safe use.
  • Demonstrable knowledge and skills for HVAC installation, trouble shooting, maintenance and repair of systems and equipment.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Must possess the ability for great attention to detail. Thoroughness.
Physical Demands and Work Environment Physical Demands
  • Climbing up and down on ladders and equipment.
  • Ability to safely lift, move, and position HVAC equipment and materials weighing up to 75 pounds.
  • Ability to pick up a minimum of 25 pounds consistently and carry up to 250 feet unassisted.
  • Ladder work and tight space work are required from time to time.
  • Operate handheld power tools.
  • Wear personal protective equipment as needed.
  • Ability to work more than 40 hours per work week and up to 12 hours per day.
Working Environment
  • Work both indoors and outdoors.
  • Will be exposed to very hot or very cold temperatures.
  • Will be in proximity to hazardous conditions, equipment, and situations.
  • Wear safety attire, such as goggles, or other protective clothing as needed – Safety First!
  • Could be exposed to sounds and noise levels that are uncomfortable and distracting.
  • Will be exposed to very bright or inadequate lighting conditions.
  • Ability to climb ladders and work from roofs and scaffolding.
  • Will work around exposed contaminants.
  • Must be able to work in cramped workplaces, such as crawl spaces under floors.
