The Bachrach Group is partnered with one of the leading global energy companies on their search for a PROCESS ENGINEER III for their plant located in Coffeyville, KS
. This role will support refinery operations by ensuring product quality, monitoring unit performance, and improving overall plant efficiency. The engineer works closely with operations to troubleshoot issues, enhance reliability, and advance the refinery’s operational goals. A bachelor’s degree in chemical, mechanical, or petroleum engineering is required along with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience within the industry.
- Contribute to small capital project development, collaborates with project engineering teams and outside consultants, and supports process safety activities to ensure regulatory compliance.
- Monitor assigned refinery unit(s) daily and troubleshoot issues to maintain safe, efficient operation. Support small capital projects, including equipment sizing, basic design work, and coordination with drafting and engineering teams.
- Work with operators and engineers to resolve unit problems and implement process improvements.
- Manage technical data needs for catalyst/chemical bids, vendors, and project engineering.
- Assist with planning and execution of unit shutdowns, startups, and performance test runs.
- Maintain performance-tracking spreadsheets and share data with teams and vendors.
- Collaborate with control system personnel to improve unit monitoring and automation.
- Research emerging technologies and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Provide after-hours, turnaround, and incident investigation support as required.
- Participate in PSM activities, including MOCs and PHAs, and keep supervisors updated.
- Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in chemical, mechanical, or petroleum engineering (chemical preferred); minimum 2+ years of relevant experience; refinery internships preferred. - Technical
Skills:
Knowledge of economic principles, project management, mechanical systems, and process-modeling software; proficient in MS Office, especially Excel. - Analytical & Problem-Solving:
Strong ability to analyze and solve complex problems; adaptable to frequent changes. - Team & Leadership:
Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively, build peer relationships, and lead when needed. - Work Requirements:
Fluent in English; able to adjust schedule to support operational needs; comfortable working in a manufacturing environment.

Schedule:
ONSITE
Salary range: $100,000 - $115,000 DOE (+ bonus eligible)
