Job OverviewThe ICU Registered Nurse (RN) provides direct patient care for all ages, maintaining accurate records, administering medication, monitoring for side effects, recording vital signs, and reporting changes in patient conditions. The RN is accountable for all care during the shift, including delegating to nursing assistants and LPNs.
Job Duties- Implement physicians’ orders, administer medications, start IVs, perform treatments, procedures, and special tests, and document treatment as required by company policy and local/state/federal rules and regulations.
- Effectively communicate with providers regarding patient lab and diagnostic reports, condition, progress, and treatment options.
- Assure diagnostic tests ordered or prescribed by provider are completed in a timely manner.
- Assess and evaluate patients’ needs and responses to care rendered.
- Apply sound nursing judgment in patient care management decisions.
- Provide primary and emergency care for occupational and non‑occupational injuries and illnesses.
- Administer IV and non‑IV medications as ordered.
- Collaborate with the nursing team to create a Plan of Care for all patients.
- Direct and guide ancillary personnel and maintain standards of professional nursing.
- Maintain confidentiality of all information according to HIPAA and company policy.
- Analytical ability to apply criteria and evaluate information to make decisions.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; excellent interpersonal skills when working with patients, medical staff, and the public.
- Detail oriented with proven ability to multitask.
- Professional appearance and ease in developing rapport with others.
- Accurate clinical assessment skills regarding patient medical conditions.
- Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, physicians, and hospital staff.
- Computer skills including MS Office, Outlook, Meditech (preferred).
- Willingness to cross‑train and cover other positions and responsibilities as needed.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals.
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (required).
- Current Registered Nurse licensure with the State of Kansas (required).
- Credentials required per CRMC policy, state and regulatory requirements for unit assigned.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree (preferred).
- Clinical experience in the area of work (preferred).
Salary Range: $28.05 – $37.95 per hour.
