Description
We are looking for a hard-working and flexible candidate to join our team as a Forklift Operator Laborer. You’ll get to work with skilled workers and strong field leadership. Our laborers perform a wide range of physical labor tasks in support of the site.
Job Responsibilities- Participates in daily safety meetings.
- Participate in Job Safety Analysis.
- Assist skilled workers as assigned, including rigging, tagline duty, spotter duty, carrying lumber and materials.
- Unloads materials delivered such as boxes, pallets, lumber, posts, bags of cement, and other consumables, then distributes them to appropriate locations as identified by a supervisor, project plans, or specifications.
- Assists in preparing layout areas for lifting, handling, storage, and ground clearing operations.
- Prepares layout areas for construction by properly measuring, marking, or recording openings or distances.
- Prepares tools and materials for skilled workers.
- Cleans and prepares specific areas of the jobsite as assigned, which may include digging trenches, cleaning up debris and trash, or removing hazardous materials.
- Operates a wide variety of hand and power tools.
- Directs traffic near, in, or around work zones.
- Signals equipment operators to assist with alignment, movement, or adjustment of machinery, equipment, or materials.
- Performs housekeeping of the work area and site location.
- Performs other job-related duties as required.
- Sufficient written and verbal communication skills.
- Sufficient organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Team-driven attitude.
- Ability to work with a diverse team.
- High School Diploma preferred.
- At least one year of related crane and rigging field experience preferred.
- At least one year of experience working around heavy equipment preferred.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted.
- Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged periods in potential extreme weather.
- Must be able to frequently climb up and down a ladder for heights up to 20 feet while possibly carrying loads.
- Must be able to enter and exit tight areas for the purpose of rigging loads.
- Must be able to wear all required personal protective equipment.
- Must be able to work beyond normal operating hours as determined by business demands.
