Salary Range
₹15,000 – ₹20,000 per month (based on experience and skills)
Job Summary
Looking for a motivated Microbiologist to support laboratory activities related to the development and quality of probiotic products. This entry-level role is ideal for candidates with around one year of hands-on microbiology experience who are eager to grow their skills in probiotic research, fermentation, and quality testing within an industry setting.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in culturing, maintaining, and storing probiotic microorganisms
Perform routine microbiological tests, including microbial enumeration and viability analysis
Support fermentation experiments and basic process optimization studies
Prepare media, reagents, and laboratory equipment following SOPs
Conduct basic microbial identification and contamination monitoring
Assist in stability and shelf-life studies of probiotic formulations
Accurately record experimental data and maintain laboratory notebooks
Follow GMP, GLP, and laboratory safety guidelines at all times
Support senior scientists and cross-functional teams in R&D and QC activities
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology, Biotechnology, Food Science, or a related field
Approximately 1 year of laboratory experience (academic, internship, or industry)
Basic knowledge of microbiological techniques and aseptic handling
Familiarity with probiotic or food microbiology is an advantage
Willingness to learn industry standards and laboratory best practices
Preferred Skills
Exposure to lactic acid bacteria or other probiotic microorganisms
Experience with plate counts and basic fermentation techniques
Understanding of food or dietary supplement quality systems
Basic data analysis and reporting skills
Soft Skills
Strong attention to detail and good organizational skills
Ability to follow instructions and SOPs accurately
Good communication and teamwork skills
Curiosity and eagerness to learn in a fast-paced environment
Work Environment
Laboratory-based role with routine handling of microbial cultures
May involve working with anaerobic systems and fermentation equipment
