Training Instructor / Specialist
Colchester Public Schools is seeking a dynamic and collaborative Literacy/Humanities Instructional Coach Teacher to support high-quality literacy instruction and student achievement across all content areas. The successful candidate will partner with other teachers through coaching cycles, co-planning, modeling research-based instructional practices, facilitating professional learning, and using student data to strengthen teaching and learning.
The Literacy/Humanities Instructional Coach Teacher will work across all disciplines to support reading, writing, speaking, listening, and critical thinking skills while helping educators integrate effective literacy practices into content-area instruction. The coach will support curriculum development/review through collaboration with teachers, PLCs, and curriculum committees to ensure alignment of instructional practices, resources, and assessments with district curricula and learning goals. In addition, the coach will provide direct literacy instruction and intervention services to students.
Qualifications- Connecticut certification as a Reading and Language Arts Consultant or PreK–12 Literacy Specialist
- Demonstrated exemplary teaching experience
- Strong leadership, collaboration, and instructional coaching skills
- Knowledge of evidence-based literacy instruction, assessment, and intervention practices
- Full‑year position aligned with the Board of Education calendar
- Salary in accordance with the Colchester Federation of Teachers collective bargaining agreement
