Role Description The Horticultural Field Sales role is a full-time, regional position based in Colchester, CT. The individual in this role will actively prospect and generate leads in Connecticut, Rhode Island and Massachusetts, present Agro Sci® living wall and plantscape solutions to potential clients, and manage sales cycles from initial contact through closing. Daily responsibilities include visiting job sites, meeting with architects, designers, and property owners, preparing proposals and estimates, coordinating with internal teams to ensure accurate project scoping and working on installations.
The role also involves maintaining strong customer relationships, providing product education and horticultural guidance, and following up on installed projects to support client satisfaction and repeat business. The Horticultural Field Sales professional is expected to track sales activities, report on pipeline status, and contribute feedback to improve sales processes and service offerings.
Qualifications
- Strong Communication skills, including clear presentation, active listening, and professional written correspondence.
- Demonstrated Customer Service abilities in building trust, handling inquiries, and resolving issues in a client-focused manner.
- Proven Sales experience, with a track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets in field or territory-based roles.
- Lead Generation and prospecting skills to identify new business opportunities and nurture them through the sales funnel.
- Sales Operations capabilities, including CRM use, pipeline management, and accurate reporting of sales activities.
- Background or strong interest in horticulture, landscaping, interior plantscapes, or related green industries.
- Ability to work on-site and travel locally to job sites and client meetings in and around Territory.
- Organizational and time-management skills to balance multiple projects and deadlines.
- Comfort reading basic plans or working with architects and designers; prior construction or design industry experience is a plus.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for field visits; ability to perform light physical tasks related to site assessments.
