Handyman​/Handywoman

Position Overview

We are seeking highly motivated professional craftsmen and craftswomen with skills in multiple trades to serve as independent contractors for Ace Handyman Services in the Hartford and New London County area. The role involves performing general repair, maintenance and remodeling work for residential and commercial customers. As a contractor, you will manage your own schedule, use your own truck or van to travel to job sites, and handle invoicing and documentation.

Strong work ethic, professional appearance, and broad knowledge of trades such as carpentry, tiling, painting, drywall, light plumbing, and electrical. Excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills. Must be able to work independently and respond positively to clients, colleagues, and management.

• Successful prior track record as a handymen/craftswoman.
• Capability to perform minor carpentry, electrical and plumbing without supervision.
• Own standard set of tools.
• Own serviceable work truck or van.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Residence within 25 miles of service area.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Excellent documentation and invoicing skills.
• Professional appearance and demeanor.
• Reliable attendance and performance.
• Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug screen.

$25.00–$30.00 per hour, plus performance bonuses.
