Team Leader – Therapeutic Children’s Residential Care

📍 Colchester | 💼 Full‑time, permanent | 💷 £33,524‑£36,044 + £50 per sleep‑in

We're working with a forward‑thinking residential care provider seeking a passionate and experienced Team Leader to help shape a safe, nurturing and therapeutic home for young people aged 7‑17 with emotional and behavioural needs.

This isn't just another care role – it's an opportunity to step into leadership, inspire a team, and create a structured supportive environment where young people can rebuild trust, confidence and hope for the future.

The Opportunity
  • Lead and supervise Residential Support Workers, setting the standard for exceptional childcare practice
  • Work closely with the Registered Manager to ensure high‑quality, therapeutic care
  • Create a structured and emotionally supportive home environment
  • Support young people to attend appointments, family visits and community activities

    Be a consistent, positive role model during pivotal moments in their lives
  • Play a key role in maintaining compliance with care standards while keeping the focus where it belongs – on the young people
Who we’re looking for
  • Has experience in a children’s residential care setting
  • Has held supervisory or senior responsibilities
  • Understands the complex needs of adolescents in care
  • Is dynamic, resilient and emotionally intelligent
  • Holds a full UK driving licence
  • Is 23+ (due to regulatory requirements)
  • Has the right to work in the UK (no sponsorship available)
