A fantastic opportunity is available for an Ecologist to join a well-established independent environmental consultancy through a specialist recruitment agency. Our client provides expert ecology, biodiversity and environmental consultancy services on a wide range of development, infrastructure and conservation projects across the UK. This Ecologist position is based in Colchester and offers a varied workload within a supportive and experienced team.
As an Ecologist, you will undertake protected species and habitat surveys, Preliminary Ecological Appraisals, ecological impact assessments, field data collection and technical report writing. You'll work alongside experienced consultants, contribute to project delivery and help clients achieve practical, sustainable environmental solutions. The successful Ecologist will be based from the Colchester office with regular travel to project sites, making this an excellent opportunity for an Ecologist looking to develop their consultancy career.

Requirements:
Degree in Ecology, Environmental Science or a related discipline
Experience with in ecological consultancy or a similar ecological role
Knowledge of UK habitats, protected species and relevant legislation
Strong field survey, communication and report writing skills
Full UK driving licence
Full right to work in the UK
Able to live in or within a reasonable commuting distance of the office
Well organised with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
