Service Technician

Do you have a knack for fixing machinery and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service? We’re looking for an experienced Service Technician to join our friendly, professional team at our Colchester branch in Essex.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a well‑established company operating from 19 locations across Essex, Herts, Suffolk, Norfolk, Cambridge, Lincolnshire, Kent, Surrey and Sussex.

• In this hands‑on role, you’ll report directly to the Agricultural Service Manager and be responsible for repairing and maintaining machinery sold through our sales departments within your designated area.
• Diagnosing faults using the latest software and carrying out warranty, chargeable or internal repairs.
• Providing first‑class service to customers who depend on agricultural or horticultural machinery.
• Safely handling heavy machinery, using appropriate lifting tools when required.
• Communicating effectively with customers and suppliers to ensure smooth service delivery.

• Proven experience in the agricultural industry (advantageous).
• Strong technical and diagnostic skills.
• The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• A practical, problem‑solving approach to work.
• Good general fitness and a professional appearance.
• A strong commitment to health & safety procedures.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• A full, clean UK driving licence.

  Immediate, but subject to candidate notice period.
• Hours:
  
  39 hrs per week – 8 am to 5 pm Monday to Thursday, 8 am to 4 pm Friday (1‑hr unpaid lunch). Overtime paid at time and a half on completion of 39 hours.
• Salary: competitive, depending on experience (hourly paid) plus company van and mobile phone.
