Zoning & Compliance Specialist

The Department of Planning & Zoning is seeking a part-time, temporary office professional to support with communications and responses as part of the Town’s ongoing zoning enforcement program at time of real estate transfers. There is some flexibility with both the duration of the position and work schedule within the Town's standard hours of 8 am - 4:30 pm. The Specialist will focus on departmental administrative and customer service tasks related to permitting functions.

This public-facing position is part of a small, team-oriented, collaborative environment that plays a vital role in connecting with and servicing the community.

Assists with phone and in-person public inquiries, file management, performs property research to support the building and zoning permit application process, collects and processes payments, coordinates scheduling of staff site inspections and supports a variety of other administrative tasks.

The ideal candidate will have a customer service mindset, excellent written and verbal communication skills, the ability to manage competing priorities and a positive attitude, with the desire to always work towards a solution. Proficiency in MS Office Suite and the ability to learn specialized software. Must possess a valid driver’s license.
