Engelberth Construction is seeking a Civil Estimator who provides expertise and support to the preconstruction and operations teams related to civil and site infrastructure work.
PositionThe Civil Estimator plays a critical role in project success by developing accurate, strategic cost estimates and supporting civil and site-related planning, risk management, and execution across our commercial construction portfolio.
Responsibilities- Develop estimates at all phases of design
- Coordinate subcontractor bidding for CM and hard bid projects
- Maintain the civil estimating database
- Provide internal coordination with team members related to civil and site work (cost, scheduling, design issues, bidding strategies, and risk management efforts)
- Support operations teams with site-related issues and business development efforts, including RFP responses
- Perform civil and site-related material takeoffs
- Coordinate with equipment and material vendors for current pricing
- Develop cost estimates using Timberline/Sage estimating software
- Understand subcontractor market conditions and develop subcontractor bid lists
- Develop subcontractor bid packages defining specific trade scopes
- Review subcontractor bids and proposals for conformance to requested information
- Discuss estimates and subcontractor bidding results with Owners and Design Team members
- Provide constructability reviews and quality control feedback to designers
- Develop cost reduction strategies and evaluate value engineering suggestions for cost and schedule impact
- 5+ years of design experience or equivalent years of civil and site-related subcontractor estimating experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products
- Proficiency in, or willingness to learn, digital take-off and estimating software
- Commercial construction experience preferred
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams
- Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving capabilities

Compensation Range: $65,000.00 - $90,000.00 annually
Compensation is based on experience, qualifications, skills, and job-related competencies, in accordance with applicable Vermont and New Hampshire pay transparency guidelines.
