Hospitalist Physician (MD/DO) – Brattleboro, VT

Quick Facts- Location: Brattleboro, VT

- Shift: Day shifts negotiable (typical 8-12 hours; based on facility needs)
- Hours/week: 40+
- Employment Type: Permanent
- License/Certs: Board Certified or Board Eligible, DEA required
- Experience: Prior hospitalist experience preferred but not required
- Salary Range: $300,000 – $350,000 annually (based on experience)

- Provide direct medical care to hospitalized patients, including admissions, rounding, and discharges
- Evaluate, diagnose, and manage a variety of acute and chronic conditions
- Collaborate with specialists, nurses, respiratory therapists, and other providers
- Coordinate patient care plans and ensure smooth transitions
- Order, interpret, and respond to lab tests, imaging, and diagnostics
- Respond to emergencies, including codes and rapid responses
- Manage ventilators and assist with critical care as needed
- Participate in clinical rounds, hospital committees, and quality improvement initiatives
- Educate patients and families about diagnoses and follow-up care
- Document thoroughly in the EMR and adhere to hospital policies and standards
Required:
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine
- Active Vermont medical license or ability to obtain
- DEA license
- At least 1 year of hospitalist experience preferred but not mandatory
Preferred:
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work independently in a rural hospital setting
