Job Description

Head Start is a federally‑funded program that provides comprehensive services for pregnant women, children from birth to age five, and their families. Services for children promote school readiness and include early education, health, nutrition, mental health, and support for children with special needs. Services for parents promote family engagement and include parent leadership and social service supports.

Part‑time

• Provide on‑call, “as‑needed” substitute teaching in an early education classroom setting.
• Support classroom activities that promote early childhood development and school readiness.
• Assist in implementing health, nutrition, and mental‑health routines for children.
• Collaborate with parents and staff to foster family engagement.

• High school diploma.
• Related teaching or childcare experience.
• Commitment to social justice and working with families who have limited financial resources.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills; bilingual abilities are a plus.
• Reliable transportation and the physical ability to carry out required tasks.

• Salary: $20.00 per hour.
